Launch of Create Your Campus interactive learning room

Today the ACRG were involved in the launch of the Create Your Campus (CYC) interactive learning space, part of the broader CYC competition.

The room has an interlinked touch table and touch screen, with video capture and a range of multi-touch software. Demonstrations at the launch included James Miles showing the use of Computed Tomography data from the mu-Vis centre and Tom Brughmans showing the new data querying and visualisation system he is working with in partnership with Microsoft Research. Other demonstrations included learning applications of web mapping in our Geography department funded by Google and a multi-touch composition tool developed in Music. ACRG staff and students were involved from the earliest stages in the competition, particularly in terms of human computer interaction tools for learning and teaching.
